Dear Prek Families,
The prek team is excited to begin a show and tell experience in our program. For the show and tell we are asking families on the weekend as you visit different places throughout the community that you take pictures of your child and your family. Then send your child’s teacher a picture or two of their experience, through either email, classdojo or send in a printed picture in your child’s folder.
Sharing a picture of their experience will help the children develop different skills. These skills include developing their social study skills by building a sense of their community, developing cognitive skills by making connections to their friends, developing language skills by recalling their experiences, and social skills through their sharing with their peers. This will also help build family involvement in the classroom as we will then hang the pictures in the room for the children to see and revisit throughout their time here. We will start the show and tell on Monday, September 26th. Please reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.
